Thanks to IGN, we now have confirmation that Sony Pictures have announced the live action adaptation of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda has now finished production at CinemaCon 2026.
The film has been shot in location in New Zealand, so expect the same impressive vistas as Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, which also took advantage of the country's natural beauty to enhance his own films. Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamaoto has been working with producer Avi Arad and Director Wes Ball (Maze Runner) to create the live-action vision for the film, which will stream exclusively on Netflix once the cinema and home release runs are complete.

Bo Bragason will be playing Zelda (pictured above) while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will be taking on the portrayal of Link.
Hopefully with the footage all shot, we can look forward to a trailer soon. The movie is currently scheduled for 7th May 2027.
