First introduced in 1986 as an antagonist for Marvel UK's Transformers, this original character written by Simon Furman and designed by Geoff Senior proved too good to kill off as planned, and has since bounced around the Marvel universe making guest appearances throughout the years from the pages of his own book to facing off against Spider-Man, The Hulk, X-Men and The Avengers.
He's made something of a proper comeback alongside Liam Sharpe's Death's Head II in follow up to many of Marvel UK's creations in Revolutionaries, as well as a series of guest appearances more recently. Now the Freelance Peace Keeping Agent returns in a new book published by Marvel, illustrated by incredible talent Kei Zama (who drew me a kick-ass commission 2 years ago which I still treasure). The book will be written by Tini Howard with guest covers by IDW Transformers scribe, artist and gentleman Nick Roche. I can only imagine how much his Death's Head cover (above and below) will go for at TF Nation if he has it with him!
I've thrown in my original Death's Head piece by creator Geoff Senior into the gallery below so you can see just how on the money Nick and Kei's art is!
Here's hoping Marvel release the rest of the Death's Head back-catalogue on digital services like Comixology sometime in the near future so newer fans can see just how timeless this character really is!
