Announced at the end of the Evangelion 30+; 30th Anniversary of Evangelion festival, a new Evangelion TV series was announced, to be helmed by NieR Automata creator Yokō Tarō.
At present he's working on the script and series composition, with direction duties to be handled by Kazuya Tsurumaki and Tôko Yatabe. Tsurumaki worked on 1997's The End of Evangelion movie and more recently as a key animator on Gundam Gquuuuuux alongside Yatabe, who also worked on the recent Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc movie. He also has Eva experience, having worked on Evangelion 3.0, not to mention the really rather excellent SSSS.Dynazenon.
Studio Khara and CloverWorks will oversee production, while NieR composer Keiichi Okabe will handle the music.
A fairly cryptic teaser has been posted on Youtube, and while it doesn't reveal much, you do get a shot of an Eva at the end and the music is ruddy mysterious.
There's no details about the story direction or how this new series will fit into existing canon, if at all. The creative team sounds top-tier though, so hopefully we'll have an interesting and cohesive Evangelion for a new generation.
