For many of us, this is the Sonic Racing Crossworlds drop we've been waiting for - Tangle and Whisper are now officially available to add to your roster, and best of all, they're completely free!
For those who haven't been following along with IDW's really rather superb comics, penned by longtime Sonic writer Ian Flynn, you may not be familiar with two of the comics breakout stars. This may be a good time to jump in and acquaint yourself with two of the most interesting characters that have come from the book (and hopefully there will be more to come).
Whisper the Wolf is the last surviving member of a specialist team of undercover operatives named the Diamond Cutters, who were betrayed by one of their own in a story that mimics the first "Mission Impossible" film. Thanks to her mask, Whisper is able to talk to the creatures known as Wisps, and she utilises their powers through an experimental "Wispon". Her design was inspired by Metal Gear's Sniper Wolf character, and can technically be created using the character designer (including her Kabuki mask inspired headpiece) in Sonic Forces. She's quiet, deadly and deeply traumatised.
Tangle the Lemur is a fun-loving and energetic character that joined Sonic and his friends in the aftermath of the Eggman War. She's become a steadfast friend to Whisper and together they formed a new team of Diamon Cutters. Tangle can manipulate her tail like a hand, using it to stretch and reach tall ledges, pick up items and even form a fist to fight with!
Both of these characters are free to download and come with two new songs for the jukebox - "Character Select" & "Result, as well as special emotes and sounds.
