Crunchyroll Announces Winners of 2024 Anime Awards

Posted on 06 Mar 2024

Crunchyroll recently concluded their eighth annual Anime Awards, with the awards being presented on the 2nd of March in person in Tokyo featuring celebrity guests such as Megan Thee Stallion.

The big winner was Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, which received 11 awards including Anime of The Year. Only 2 other shows managed to receive more than 2 awards, Chainsaw Man, which received 6, and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc, which received 3.

The nominees for each category were selected by a panel of judges that consisted of industry professionals and content creators. The grand winners were decided by a mix of the judges and votes from the public, which almost doubled this year from 18 million to 34 million votes.

Anime airing from the Fall 2022 to Summer 2023 anime seasons were eligible for an award, meaning some anime were not eligible in full. The biggest example of this being Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
